Five for Friday

Hi, friends!  Happy Friday!  It's been a bit since I've linked up with Kacey for Five for Friday!

Yay for having two cold days this week... which have given me some extra time to finally knock a few things off of my to-do list!

Last week, we celebrated our 100th day of school, as well as Valentine's Day.  Talk about a whirlwind of a week!  Here's a sneak peek at just some of our 100th Day fun!

Many of these activities were FREEBIES!  Check back on Saturday for my 100th Day blog post, and I will share all of the links!

This week, I pulled out the slinkys to help us "stretch out" words!  First, we begin with our slinkys touching the table.  This is important, very important!  Otherwise, they will be flopping all over the place!

Then, we stretch it out as we say each sound in the word.

Don't forget to push it back together and say the word!

On a sidenote, I googled the word slinky to see if the plural was "slinkys" or "slinkies," and I actually found it both ways... though the Slinky website has it spelled "slinkys," so I went with that.  Just incase any of you were wondering!

Earlier this week, I blogged all about journaling in the primary grades!

You can read my post over at The Primary Pack!

Since Elsa has cast a terrible cold spell across most of the U.S., we only had time to start our President's Day activities!  We were "flipping" for this Presidential Penny Flip activity!

My high-flying readers are working on gathering evidence from the text and then identifying main idea.  They did an awesome job with these Comprehension Minis from Sweet Sounds of Kindergarten!

Next week, we are going to begin our President's Day centers!  Here's a sneak peek at some of our math and literacy tubs.

I'll be cutting lamination for days this weekend!

Plus, we are going to finish up our "All About Lincoln" flap books and get started on our "All About Washington" books!

Whew!  Then, it will be March!  Holy Toledo!

This weekend, we will be celebrating my niece's and mother-in-law's birthdays!

I bet you all are wondering what's inside....  Enjoy your weekend!
