Why, hello February! Does anyone else think the months are just flying by?!? I cannot believe that January has already come and gone, but February is one of my favorite months to teach... so many themes! My friends and I over at The Primary Pack have teamed up once again to bring you another great FREEBIE ebook! Keep reading to grab the "Thing We Love about February Pack of Freebies," as well as another freebie from me!
Teaching about President's Day is one of my favorite themes to teach in February... so much so that I've already prepped my math and literacy centers, as well as our Abraham and George Washington poems! I wanted to get a head start since I know that this coming week will be busy with our 100th day celebration and Valentine's Day party. Here's a little sneak peek into our math and literacy tubs:
Identifying and Supplying Rhyming Words |
Sight Word Identification |
Syllables |
CVCE Words |
Collecting, Graphing, and Analyzing Data |
Coin Identification |
Subtraction, Decomposing 10 |
Addition, Composing 10 |
Nonstandard Measurement |
I know my kiddos are going to shout, "Hip, Hip, Hooray, It's President's Day!"
Plus, I prepped our poems about Abraham and George Washington! Putting facts to a little jingle helps my kiddos so much!
Then, we are going to make these fun brochures with the facts we learned in each poem! Take that, Common Core Informational Writing standard!
These are my favorite two poems and extension activities from my I Can Read February Poetry Binder!
Here's an extra freebie that I just updated with new fonts and borders!
Now, onto The Primary Pack's "Things We Love about February Pack of Freebies!" Just click on the image below to head over to our collaborative blog to download this e-book freebie, which includes 22 no-prep printable FREEBIES just for you! Don't forget to check out all of the link-ups, and link up your own February freebies and products while you are there!
Happy 100th Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day, Chinese New Year, Black History and Dental Health Month!

I like your penny flip too. I am going to pair it w/my penny science activity I found at http://monthbymonth.scholastic.com/teach.html in the Presidents' Day file. It's called the penny experiment and looks very easy to do.
ReplyDeleteThose brochures are adorable! Great idea!
